Food Fest Report
The Departmentof economics/KSHM ARTS and SCIENCE College successfully organized a Food Fest with the aim of promoting culinary creativity, teamwork, and cultural exchange among students. The programme witnessed active participation from students and staff and was conducted in a lively and festive atmosphere.
Objectives
1: To cultivate culinary creativity, team work
2: To introduce trends in food pattern(traditional, modern, northern, western)
3: to cultivate cooperative mind among student
Activities
The programme began with the inauguration by the College Chairman, Dr. Mahfoos Rahim, who officially declared the Food Fest open. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of such co-curricular activities in enhancing students’ practical skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
The Presidential Address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. Abdul Bari. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and emphasized that events like Food Fest provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents beyond academics and encourage innovation and confidence.
The Chief Guest of the programme was Mr. Shafeeq, Video Editor, who addressed the gathering and shared his experiences from the creative media field. His speech inspired students to explore creative careers and develop passion-driven skills.
A felicitation ceremony was held to honour distinguished personalities, during which Mr. Sakkeer Hussain was felicitated for his contributions and support. The moment added grace and significance to the programme.
Various food stalls set up by students offered a wide variety of dishes, reflecting different tastes and cultures. The Food Fest concluded on a happy note, with positive feedback from participants and visitors, making the event a memorable and successful one.

Report on Birthday Celebration of College Principal
The Department of Economics organized a birthday celebration in honour of our respected College Principal, Dr. Abdul Bari. The programme was conducted in a cordial and pleasant atmosphere with the active participation of faculty members and students.
The programme began with a brief presentation highlighting the inspirational leadership, academic excellence, and dedicated service of Dr. Abdul Bari to the institution. Faculty members and students shared their appreciation and gratitude through thoughtful words.
This was followed by the cake cutting ceremony, where Dr. Abdul Bari cut the cake amidst warm applause and joy. The moment added to the happiness and togetherness of the occasion.
Later, students conveyed their birthday wishes, expressing respect and admiration for the Principal’s guidance, encouragement, and commitment towards students’ overall development.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the celebration as a memorable and meaningful event for the Department of Economics

The Department of Economics, KSHM Arts and Science College, Edathanattukara, conducted its weekly talk session titled “Kutti Kutti Talk” as part of an initiative to enhance students’ awareness, communication skills, and understanding of contemporary issues. This week’s session focused on the theme “Changes in the Trend of Arts Festivals in Colleges.”
Objectives of the Session
To understand how college arts festivals have evolved over the years.
To examine the influence of modern culture, technology, and student preferences on arts festivals.
To highlight the educational and cultural significance of arts festivals in academic institutions.
To encourage students to share their experiences and observations.
Session Details
The talk began with a short introduction about the importance of arts festivals in college life. The HoD Miss Jini Joseph explained how arts festivals were traditionally simple, focusing mainly on cultural competitions and limited student participation. Over the years, significant changes have taken place in terms of scale, participation, creativity, and coordination.

The Department of Economics organized a special student welfare program titled “Mom to Be” on 21 November 2025. The initiative aimed to support and encourage the well-being of student Arshida, who is expecting a baby, by providing emotional, academic, and health-related guidance.
Objectives of the Program
To ensure the physical and mental well-being of the expecting student.
To provide awareness on health care, nutrition, and stress management during pregnancy.
To offer academic support and counseling to help the student continue her studies without difficulty.
To promote a supportive and inclusive campus environment.
Program Details
The session was planned and conducted by the Sixth Semester Economics students as part of their student welfare activities.
Key components of the program included:
1. Introduction Session:
The student organizers welcomed all participants and explained the purpose of the program.
2. Health and Nutrition Awareness:
Basic guidelines on prenatal care, nutritious food habits, and the importance of regular medical checkups were shared.
