Trip to the Legislative Assembly, Thiruvananthapuram

Aim and objective

1. To attain a live experiance of budjet presentation

2.make students aware of the importance  of democratic values 

3.beyond the class room study


The Department of Economics organized an educational trip to the Legislative Assembly, Thiruvananthapuram, for the Second Semester Four-Year UG students as part of their academic curriculum. The programme aimed to provide students with first-hand exposure to the budget presentation process and to enhance their practical understanding of public finance.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Muhammed Junaid K, with Ms. Jini Joseph, Head of the Department of Economics, serving as the escorting staff for the trip.

The journey began on 28/01/2026 from Melattur Railway Station, and the group reached Thiruvananthapuram, the destination of the trip. On 29/01/2026, the students visited the Legislative Assembly and observed the budget presentation, which offered them a valuable real-life learning experience related to their syllabus.

The visit helped students gain practical insights into the functioning of the legislative system, budget formulation, and presentation procedures. It also strengthened their understanding of theoretical concepts discussed in the classroom.

The trip concluded successfully on 30/01/2026, with the return journey marking the end of a memorable and academically enriching experience.

Overall, the programme was highly educational and beneficial, enabling students to connect classroom learning with real-world governance and economic practices.

Report on Martyrs’ Day – Weekly Talk

The Department of Economics organized a Weekly Talk on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day to commemorate the sacrifices of national leaders, especially Mahatma Gandhi. The programme was conducted with great respect and solemnity.


Objective

1. to know about Gandhiji s life, principles,, etc more

2. To understand the importance of remembering the sacrifices of martyrs

3. To mark our sincere thanks to our great leaders of freedom struggle.

4.to understand the importance of the principles of Truth and nonviolence.


The The programme began with a welcome speech by Shafna, who highlighted the importance of Martyrs’ Day and the relevance of Gandhiji’s ideals in contemporary society. Dr. Abdul bari inaugurated the program.This was followed by a talk on Mahatma Gandhi, presented by Femina, Rinsha, Saniya, and Hiba, who spoke about Gandhiji’s life, principles of non-violence, truth, and his role in India’s freedom struggl person, Mr. Junaid, delivered an insightful address emphasizing Gandhiji’s values and their application in students’ personal and social lives. The programme was presided over by Ms. Vaheeda, Joint HoD, who delivered the presidential address, appreciating the efforts of the students and stressing the importance of remembering the sacrifices of martyrs.

A Pushparchana (floral tribute) was offered by the students and teachers of the Department of Economics as a mark of respect to Mahatma Gandhi and other martyrs.

The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks by Fathima Hiba, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, teachers, and students for making the programme meaningful and successful.

A birthday celebration was organized in honour of Ms. Hanna, a student, on 22nd January at the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted in a joyful and friendly atmosphere.

The celebration was attended by second-year Economics students and teachers. The programme was smoothly coordinated by the student coordinator, Nikash, with the support and guidance of the teachers.

The programme was led by Teacher Coordinator Ms. Vaheeda. Mr. Muhammed Junaid and Ms. Jini Joseph also graced the occasion and shared their wishes with the student. They motivated the students by emphasizing the importance of friendship, unity, and positive values in student life.

The highlight of the programme was the cake-cutting ceremony, followed by birthday wishes from friends and teachers. The event strengthened the bond between students and teachers and created a pleasant memory for everyone present.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, making the celebration a memorable one for Ms. Hanna and all the participants.

Birthday celebration


 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION REPORT

The Department of Economics celebrated the birthday of our respected Principal, Dr. Abdul Bari, on June 8th at the college seminar hall. The event began at 10:30 AM with a warm welcome speech by Ms. Vaheeda T, who highlighted the achievements and inspiring leadership of the Principal.Hod Jini Joseph delivered presidential address.


This was followed by a brief address by faculty members appreciating his contributions to academics, student development, and discipline within the institution. Students from all semesters extended their heartfelt wishes and presented handmade greeting cards to show their admiration and respect.


A special birthday cake was cut by Dr. Abdul Bari in the presence of staff and students, adding joy and excitement to the celebration. The Principal expressed his gratitude and encouraged students to continue working with dedication and sincerity.


The event concluded with light refreshments and a group photo session. The celebration created a cheerful atmosphere and strengthened the bond between students and teachers.

PTA meeting report

 PTA MEETING REPORT

Aim

To strengthen the relationship between parents, teachers, and the institution and to ensure the academic and personal development of students through mutual understanding and cooperation.

Objectives

To review students’ academic progress and overall performance.

To orient parents regarding college rules, regulations, and upcoming programmes.

To discuss exam results, attendance, project work, and discipline.

To provide a platform for healthy interaction between parents and teachers.

To collect feedback and suggestions for improving academic quality and student well-being.

REPORT

The Parent Teacher Association meeting of the college was conducted in two well-structured sessions.

The programme began with a general assembly attended by parents, teachers, and the academic leadership team. The meeting was officially inaugurated with a welcome address by the Mr sakeer Hissain Accadamic Coordinator and Principal Dr. Abdul Bari delivered presidential address and  emphasised the importance of parent participation in enhancing student success. Staff  Coordinator Mr. Jibin prakash presented an overview of academic activities and updated the gathering on examinations, internal assessments, student support systems, and academic goals for the semester.

Staff Coordinator and HoD addressed key points related to college rules and regulations, discipline, attendance requirements, and behavioural expectations. The meeting broadly discussed exam results, fee submission deadlines, and the proposed final year trip. Upcoming events such as College Day, Azon, cultural fests, and academic enrichment programmes were announced. Parents shared constructive suggestions, which were positively acknowledged by the faculty.in this section principal sir granded reward for those who gets highest positionin the university result.

Class PTA

In the second phase, class-wise meetings were held under the leadership of HoD Ms. Jini Joseph. Parents interacted directly with class tutors and subject teachers to analyse student performance, attendance, project progress, and attitude towards studies. University exam results and preparation strategies for the coming term were reviewed. Individual issues such as student stress, peer pressure, and academic worries were openly discussed. Mark lists were handed over and signed by parents.

The session provided a meaningful platform for communication, enabling both teachers and parents to collaborate for student development. The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks and a reaffirmed commitment to maintain regular communication for student welfare

New year program report

New year program

 The New Year Celebration Program was conducted with great enthusiasm and joy on 5th January at kshm college Edathanattukara. The program was organised to welcome the New Year and to spread happiness, unity, and positive energy among students and staff.

The program began with a welcome address by the programme coordinator, Mrs Vaheeda t,who highlighted the importance of new beginnings and positive goals. This was followed by the inauguration of the program by Principal Dr. abdul Bari, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging students to face the New Year with confidence and determination. Mrs jini joseph, Mr. muhammed Junaid k also deliverd positive inspirational speech.

Various cultural programmes such as songs, quiz, and games were performed by the students, making the celebration lively and enjoyable. Special New Year messages and resolutions were shared by students and teachers, adding meaning to the occasion.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held as part of the celebration, symbolising joy and togetherness. Prizes were distributed to the winners of games and competitions conducted during the program.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the organisers, participants, and audience. The New Year Celebration was a grand success and created beautiful memories for everyone present.
