Introduction :

Taxation plays a vital role in the economic development of every

services, maintain infrastructure, and promote social welfare. Among the various forms of

Income Tax is a direct tax imposed on the income of individuals and organizations, ensuring

that citizens contribute a fair share of their earnings to national development. On the other

hand, GST is an indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and services, designed to simplify

the complex structure of multiple indirect taxes and promote a unified national market.

 Conclusion

This seminar focuses on understanding the concepts ,structure, and calculation methods of Income Tax and GST. It also aims to highlight the importance of tax compliance, the role of taxpayers, and how these systems contribute to India’s fiscal strength and economic stability.

Through this study, we learned how Income Tax ensures equitable contribution from individuals and organizations, while GST simplifies the indirect tax structure by creating a single, transparent system for goods and services. Together, they promote economic efficiency, reduce tax evasion, and support the growth of the formal economy.

In conclusion, gaining knowledge about these taxation systems helps individuals become responsible citizens and prepares commerce and economics students to better understand the country’s fiscal policies and financial administration.
