Introduction


The Christmas Day Celebration was conducted in the college campus with great enthusiasm and joy under the leadership of the College Union in collaboration with different departments. The programme aimed to promote unity, cultural harmony, and festive spirit among students and staff.

Objectives of the Programme

  • To celebrate the spirit of Christmas and spread the message of love, peace, and brotherhood
  • To encourage student participation in cultural activities
  • To strengthen coordination among various departments
  • To create a joyful and inclusive campus atmosphere
Programme Details

The celebration began with a prayer song invoking peace and happiness. This was followed by a welcome address by the College Union representative. The Principal delivered a Christmas message highlighting the values of compassion, sharing, and humanity.
Various cultural programmes were presented by students from different departments, including:

Christmas carol songs

Group dance performances

Skit conveying the message of Christmas

Fun games and interactive activities

Students actively participated and showcased their talents with great enthusiasm.

Participation

        The programme witnessed active participation from students, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and members of the management. The collaborative effort of different departments contributed significantly to the success of the event.





Conclusion

The Christmas Day Celebration was a grand success and left behind memorable moments for everyone present. The collective efforts of the College Union and various departments made the programme lively and meaningful. The event strengthened bonds among students and staff and truly reflected the spirit of ക്രിസ്മസ്

Food Fest Report



The Departmentof economics/KSHM ARTS and SCIENCE College successfully organized a Food Fest with the aim of promoting culinary creativity, teamwork, and cultural exchange among students. The programme witnessed active participation from students and staff and was conducted in a lively and festive atmosphere.

Objectives

1: To cultivate culinary creativity, team work

2: To introduce trends in food pattern(traditional, modern, northern, western)

3: to cultivate cooperative mind among student

Activities

The programme began with the inauguration by the College Chairman, Dr. Mahfoos Rahim, who officially declared the Food Fest open. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of such co-curricular activities in enhancing students’ practical skills and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Presidential Address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. Abdul Bari. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and emphasized that events like Food Fest provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents beyond academics and encourage innovation and confidence.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Mr. Shafeeq, Video Editor, who addressed the gathering and shared his experiences from the creative media field. His speech inspired students to explore creative careers and develop passion-driven skills.

A felicitation ceremony was held to honour distinguished personalities, during which Mr. Sakkeer Hussain was felicitated for his contributions and support. The moment added grace and significance to the programme.


Various food stalls set up by students offered a wide variety of dishes, reflecting different tastes and cultures. The Food Fest concluded on a happy note, with positive feedback from participants and visitors, making the event a memorable and successful one.

Report on Birthday Celebration of College Principal


The Department of Economics organized a birthday celebration in honour of our respected College Principal, Dr. Abdul Bari. The programme was conducted in a cordial and pleasant atmosphere with the active participation of faculty members and students.


The programme began with a brief presentation highlighting the inspirational leadership, academic excellence, and dedicated service of Dr. Abdul Bari to the institution. Faculty members and students shared their appreciation and gratitude through thoughtful words.


This was followed by the cake cutting ceremony, where Dr. Abdul Bari cut the cake amidst warm applause and joy. The moment added to the happiness and togetherness of the occasion.


Later, students conveyed their birthday wishes, expressing respect and admiration for the Principal’s guidance, encouragement, and commitment towards students’ overall development.


The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the celebration as a memorable and meaningful event for the Department of Economics

Seminar : sustainable development

 Topic: Sustainable Development and Poverty

A seminar on “Sustainable Development and Poverty” was organized by the Department of Economics at KSHM Arts and Science College, Edathanattukara. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about how sustainable development can be used as an effective tool for reducing poverty and promoting inclusive growth.
Objective
   1. Create awareness about the concept of sustainable development
   2. Create sences about the importance of sustainable development 
    3. To analyse the concept of poverty 
  Inauguration
The session was inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Bari, Principal, who highlighted the importance of sustainable resource utilization and the role of youth in achieving global development goals.

The seminar was conducted by the resource person Ms. Nafla K, First-year Economics student, who delivered an informative and engaging presentation. She explained key concepts such as sustainable development goals (SDGs), poverty eradication strategies, environmental protection, and the need for responsible economic planning. Her session helped students understand the interlinkage between economic growth, social welfare, and environmental sustainability.

The programme was presided over by Ms. Vaheeda T, and theJoind  Head of the Department, Mr. Muhammed Junaid, addressed the gathering with insightful remarks on the relevance of sustainability in modern economic development.

Felicitations were offered by Raihan, Ardra, Usna, and Saranya, who appreciated the efforts of the department and encouraged students to participate in more academic initiatives of this kind.

The seminar was coordinated effectively by Mr. Junaid K, Staff Coordinator, whose support ensured the smooth conduct of the event.

Overall, the seminar was highly informative and enriched the knowledge of the participants regarding the importance of sustainable development in eradicating poverty. The session concluded with a vote of thanks and positive feedback from the students.
