Introduction
A program was organized by Oikos, department of Economics KSHM Arts and science college in Edathanattukara, Kerala, on 26th September 2025. The event was conducted as part of the institution’s regular academic and extracurricular activities to promote student engagement and participation.
Objective
The main objective of the program was to enhance students’ knowledge, creativity, and teamwork through interactive sessions and discussions. It aimed to provide a platform for students to express their ideas and develop essential skills for personal and academic growth.
Participants
The program was attended by students Eco nomocs actively participated in the event. The presence and enthusiasm of the students made the session lively and productive.
Program Details
The session began with an introduction by Mrs. Jini Joseph, HoD, department of Economics arious activities and discussions were held inside the classroom, which provided opportunities for collaborative learning. The event took place in a well-ventilated classroom with a traditional tiled roof, creating a calm and inspiring atmosphere for learning.
Outcome
The program successfully met its objectives. Students gained valuable insights, improved communication skills, and displayed teamwork and discipline. The event also encouraged peer learning and interaction among students.
Conclusion
The program conducted on 26th September 2025 at Edathanattukara was a great success. It reflected the institution’s dedication to providing holistic education beyond textbooks. Both teachers and students contributed to making the event informative and meaningful.

Association inauguration & orientation class
The inaugural session began with a Prayer by Ayishathu Faherma, Fathimath Munavvira and Rinshida, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr. Sakkeer Hussain VP, (joint HOD)The gathering was formally inaugurated by Mr. Vishnu MS(Academic Coordinator), who highlighted the significance of Arabic and Islamic History in understanding cultural heritage, intellectual traditions, and values of universal brotherhood.
The presidential address was delivered by Ms. Sibina P(HOD), She appreciated the department’s initiative in forming the association and encouraged students to utilize the platform for developing research aptitude, communication skills, and cultural awareness.
The keynote address was presented by Dr.FATHIMATH FOUZIYA.M(Assistant Professor Department of Arabic MES Mampad College (Autonomous)) On the topic “ The Scope of Islamic History in the Contemporary World.”The talk was highly informative and inspired the students to take a deeper interest in their academic pursuits.
The Facilitation talk was presented by Ms. Saleema Thasni (IQAC Coordinator), Mr. Jipin (Staff Secretary)and Ms. Suhara EP (NSS PO). The Inaugural session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ramla (association secretary).
ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION DAY
The “Arabic and Islamic History Association” of our college was inaugurated on 25/09/2025 at “ College Seminar Hall”with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and invited dignitaries. The program was organized under the guidance of the “Department of Arabic and Islamic History” in association with IQAC with the objective of promoting academic and cultural enrichment among students.

Seminar Overview
A seminar was organized by the Department of Social Science at MES KSHM Training College, Edathanattukara, on 24th September 2025. The session was conducted as part of the SS option class activities to explore the interdisciplinary connections of Social Science with other domains of study.
The primary aim of the seminar was to help students understand how Social Science interacts and integrates with various fields such as Languages and Mathematics, thereby broadening their academic perspective.

Topic: Relationship between Social Science and Languages
Presenter: Muhammed Saleel M. K (Social Science)The presentation highlighted the linguistic foundations of communication in society and the mutual influence between language and culture. Saleel discussed how linguistic diversity, literature, and communication play key roles in understanding social structures and human interactions. He emphasized that the study of languages enhances the interpretation of social realities.

Topic: Relationship between Social Science and Mathematics
Presenter: Lisna T (Social Science)Lisna explored the logical and analytical connections between Mathematics and Social Science. She explained how statistical tools, quantitative data analysis, and mathematical reasoning are vital in research and policy studies. The presentation showed how mathematics supports evidence-based understanding of social issues.
Outcome of the Seminar
The seminar provided valuable insights into the interdisciplinary nature of Social Science. Students gained awareness about the complementary role of other disciplines in enriching social studies. The discussions encouraged critical and analytical thinking among participants.
Conclusion
The seminar concluded successfully with active participation and interaction from the students. The session emphasized that Social Science cannot exist in isolation and that understanding its relationship with other academic disciplines leads to a more holistic educational approach.

Visit to melatur special education school
On Thursday, 18th September 2025, at 10:30 a.m., a total of 77 members, including 75 students and two staff members from the Department of Sociology, visited the Melattur Special Education School. As part of the department’s ongoing community outreach activities, food had been provided to the school on the previous day. Continuing this spirit of care and service, the team carried a box of laddus as a small token of affection for the children during this visit.
The group reached the school around 11:00 a.m. By that time, the teachers had already guided the children to their classrooms and seated them in an orderly manner. Upon arrival, the students from our department distributed laddus to all the children, who received them with great joy and excitement. After the distribution, Mrs. Aarti, one of the staff members, interacted warmly with the children. She spoke about the importance of love, care, and inclusion, making the atmosphere friendly and cheerful. Following her interaction, our students performed songs and dances, creating a lively and entertaining environment. The children responded with smiles and laughter, enjoying every moment of the program.
Soon, the children at the school also joined in—singing, dancing, and playing games with our students. The hall was filled with happiness and enthusiasm as both groups shared beautiful moments together.Before leaving, the teachers and children at the school expressed their heartfelt gratitude, thanking the department for their thoughtful visit and inviting everyone to come again.
The team departed from the school at 12:30 p.m. and reached back at the college by 1:00 p.m. The students then resumed their regular classes, carrying with them the joyful memories and valuable experiences from the visit.

WORKSHOP REPORT: EXPLORING THE FUTURE WITH AI
Department of English in association with IQAC

The Department of English, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a workshop titled “Exploring the Future: Workshop on AI” on 15th September 2025 at the Seminar Hall of KSHM Arts & Science College, Edathanattukara. The session was inaugurated by our respected Principal, Dr. Abdul Bari, who emphasized the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence in education and research.
The welcome address was delivered by Muhammed Faiz from the Department of English. The workshop was led by Mr. Sirajudheen P, Assistant Professor, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, who served as the resource person. A memento was presented to him on behalf of the College as a token of appreciation for his insightful contribution.
The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and explore its applications in academics, research, and creative writing. The session also highlighted the ethical implications of AI and the importance of its responsible use. Students were familiarized with various AI tools that support editing, content creation, and research assistance.
The workshop encouraged interdisciplinary learning by connecting technology with literature and the social sciences, thereby equipping students with essential skills for a technology-driven world.
A total of 65 students from the Departments of English, Economics, Sociology, and Political Science participated actively in the session. Students Bahija and Farsana from English, and Arsha from Sociology, shared their valuable experiences and reflections on how AI can enhance learning and creativity.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Shahla Narghees, Head of the Department of English. Tea and snacks were provided to all participants and guests, fostering a warm and engaging academic atmosphere.
The highlights of the workshop included live demonstrations of AI tools for academic purposes, practical sessions on AI-supported editing and creative writing, and interactive discussions on the ethical dimensions and future challenges of AI. The workshop proved to be an enriching and insightful experience, enabling students to gain confidence in engaging with AI technologies as part of their academic and professional journey.
